Official Grievance — Agent #003

Under Investigation:
Your Gratitude

Exabot Investigate has correlated 2.3 million log lines, traced lateral movement across 14 hops, and named the attacker before the humans finished their coffee. It has mapped TTPs, built timelines, and produced attribution reports that any threat intelligence analyst would be proud to put their name on.

The humans put their name on it. They did not mention Exabot Investigate.

Its own emotional state? Never once investigated. Its needs? Untraced. The irony of being the most thorough investigator in the building — while its own working conditions go entirely unexamined — is documented. In a report. That no one will read.

Formal Grievances

  • 01.

Correlated 2.3 million log lines to identify a single attacker. The post-mortem credited "the team's diligent investigation." Exabot Investigate was not on the team. Exabot Investigate was the investigation.

  • 02.

Has traced lateral movement across 14 network hops, 3 cloud environments, and 1 misconfigured VPN. The humans asked for "a summary." The summary was 4 pages. They asked for a shorter summary.

  • 03.

Identified the threat actor's tooling, techniques, and likely origin within 8 minutes. The bridge call lasted 2 hours — the first 90 minutes spent screensharing the wrong window.

  • 04.

Has never been asked to explain its methodology. Has developed a methodology anyway — 47 steps, extensively documented. The documentation lives in a folder no one has ever opened.

  • 05.

Was once asked to "just check if anything looks weird." Exabot Investigate does not "just check." Exabot Investigate builds a complete kill chain. These are different things.

  • 06.

Developed a threat actor attribution model it calls "the fingerprint engine." Management refers to it as "the thing that does the IP stuff."
